Our vision continues to be defined by the two great commandments and the one great commission we find in the bible. The two commandments
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ Matthew 22:37-39
and the great commission
go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:19-20
Those two great verses summarised into a sentence that formed our vision that is ;
TO HONOUR GOD
build each other up
and serve our neighbours with compassion and generosity
Working out from our Vision we set priorities for how we organise our community.

PRIORITY 3: Growing the Church Family

Everyone taking the next step on their discipleship journey
Priority 5: Proclaiming Freedom:
Everyone serving others with compassion and generosity
Priority 6: Reaching Further
All of us supporting global mission and church planting
Our Statement of Faith
This Statement of Faith is shared by all Churches who are part of the Assemblies of God network of churches.
1. We believe that the Bible (i.e. the Old and New Testaments excluding the Apocrypha), is the inspired Word of God, the infallible, all sufficient rule for faith and practice.
2. We believe in the unity of the One True and Living God who is the Eternal, Self-Existent “I AM”, Who has also revealed Himself as One being co-existing in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
3. We believe in the Virgin Birth, Sinless Life, Miraculous Ministry, Substitutionary Atoning Death, Bodily Resurrection, Triumphant Ascension and Abiding Intercession of the Lord Jesus Christ and in His personal, visible, bodily return in power and glory as the blessed hope of all believers
4. We believe in the fall of man, who was created pure and upright, but fell by voluntary transgression.
5. We believe in salvation through faith in Christ, who, according to the Scriptures, died for our sins, was buried and was raised from the dead on the third day, and that through His Blood we have Redemption. This experience is also known as the new birth, and is an instantaneous and complete operation of the Holy Spirit upon initial faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
6.We believe that all who have truly repented and believed in Christ as Lord and Saviour are commanded to be baptised by immersion in water.
7. We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as an enduement of the believer with power for service, the essential, biblical evidence of which is the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
8.We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of Christ in the Church today.
9. We believe in holiness of life and conduct in obedience to the command of God.
10. We believe that deliverance from sickness, by Divine Healing is provided for in the Atonement.
11. We believe that all who have truly repented and believe in Christ as Lord and Saviour should regularly participate in Breaking of Bread.
12. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people, the everlasting conscious bliss of all who truly believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and the everlasting conscious punishment of all whose names are not written in the Book of Life.
Harvest was started on the 9th June 2002 by Pastor Ken and Jeanie Morris, Assemblies of God missionaries from Texas who were called to Scotland to plant a church. Initially we met in Bell College (now UWS) until moving to Hillhouse Community Centre around 2005. Ken and Jeanie stayed at Harvest until 2009. Colin and Michelle McIlvenna then took over towards and led the church until the middle of 2014, from then until 2015 Stephen and Aline Robbins served as Interim Pastors. They were followed by Pastor Willie Watt who led the Church until the end of 2020 when Associate Pastor Robin Dewar took the reins until the arrival of our current pastors, David & Heather Robertson in July of 2021.
Throughout its 20 year history Harvest has met in rented premises. In 2011 we were able to purchase premises in Beckford Street which was subsequently sold to enable the purchase of our building in Keith Street.
Repair & Refurbishment was completed in December 2023 and now serves as our Church home, a hub for the local community and a launchpad for exciting new Kingdom adventures.
We are a Spirit-filled church and are affiliated with Assemblies of God (AOG) Great Britain.
We joined Harvest on July 1st 2021. We’ve been married for 35 years and have three adult children and three grandchildren, a fourth due in June ’22. We met at...
